Heirloom blue dent corn. Amazing shades of blue for fun decorative corn. Also used for flour or as a treat for horses, guinea pigs and rabbits. 50 heirloom seeds. Bred originally more than 70 years ago by famed corn breeder Ernest Strubbe in Minnesota. Strubbe said he was able to isolate this unique strain after blue kernels began to show up in a line of green kernel corn he was breeding in the 1950. He spent years isolating and stabilizing the blue phenotype and we are grateful for his work! HOW TO GROW: Plant seeds 1 inch deep after all danger of frost has passed. For best pollination, plant corn in a block of at least ten plants by ten plants (larger if possible). Harvest when the corn is tender and the silk has just dried. Annual. 50 seeds per pack. Free shipping on orders over $34.
